Jill Woodman - JW Canine Care Behaviour Training.

Lots of the videos we share on our Hound Care page are from the lovely Jill at JW Canine Care. Jill is very experienced with Greyhounds and someone we highly recommend for any help you may need with your Greyhounds training or behaviour problems./concerns.

Below is a little more about Jill and how you can get in contact with her.

Hi, my name is Jill.  I set up JW Canine Care in 2020 to offer specialist behavioural support for ex-racing Greyhounds moving into retirement. Many new owners comment on how different they are to other dogs, so working with someone who understands the breed makes a lot of sense.

I have first-hand experience of many of the problems that can beset Greyhounds when they move into a new home, having owned and fostered this breed since 2004. Taking on ‘hard to home’ dogs who need additional support to make the transition to home life is incredibly rewarding, and gives them an opportunity they might otherwise not have.

My training as a canine behaviourist is with the ISCP, which emphasises a force-free approach using positive reinforcement. Common issues for Greyhounds, such as anxiety, reactivity or separation anxiety, are based around fear. The techniques I use focus on building confidence to cope with the new situations they face. If you would like 1:1 support with your greyhound, I can work with you online or in person, so location is not an issue. Please contact me via my website www.jillwoodmancaninecare.co.uk
