The dangers of patio doors

Far too many Greyhounds have tragically lost their lives after running into patio door glass and we really can't stress enough how important it is to ensure you make any glass doors visible to your dog. (This is a requirement when rehoming a Greyhound from us).

I'm sure many of you will already know the dangers of patio doors and how Greyhounds can seriously injure themselves or sadly even be killed by running into doors / low windows when they can't see the glass, which is why we ask you to put stickers on any glass doors when we do homechecks. Please listen and take precautions to keep your dogs safe.

The photos below are perfect examples of how to easily keep your hounds safe with adhesive stickers/rolls that you can get in most hardware stores like B&Q or on Amazon, Etsy, Ebay etc. (The Greyhound design ones are from Etsy - seller/brand ZoomiesGB)

Some people think that the dogs nose art or not cleaning the glass is enough to keep dogs safe and it may work in some situations but that method will take a while to build up and by then the damage to your hound may sadly already be done, recently a Greyhound that had been at home for 5 years with no problems suddenly ran into the patio door glass and was killed on impact. Please remember that Greyhounds can reach speeds of 35mph+ in just a few strides so the devastation of them hitting the glass at those speeds can be horrifying and it is completely preventable with a few stickers.
