If you would like to offer a forever home to one of our retired Greyhounds we ask that you fill in our pre-adoption questionnaire; this will help us find the perfect hound for you! This information will not be shared with any other parties.
Please note that we carry out a home visit before we allow any of the Greyhounds to leave our care - this isn’t usually anything to worry about, we just like to make sure the Greyhound you have chosen will fit in and we can answer any questions you may have. Flight
Lovely girl Flight is settling in well. She's 2.5 years old and a real dinky dot at just 24kg. She also has fantastic sticky up ears!. She's very sweet natured, loves her Greyhound friends and has been excellent when introduced to other breeds. Unfortunately she has a misshapen leg due to an injury that wasn't fixed properly. She's seen our vet and sadly nothing can be done to change this now as it's been set this way for over a year. Thankfully she has adapted and uses the leg well, still enjoying walks and zoomies,, but she will need a sensible and understanding adopter. Flight will make a lovely pet to a quiet home with a secure garden for her to enjoy. She can be homed with other dogs providing introductions go well.

Nellie
This beautiful girl is Nellie. She's 4 years old and extremely sweet natured. She's a very gentle and affectionate girl, always ready to greet you with a waggy tail. She walks perfectly on the lead and enjoys her walks. She's been introduced to other breeds proving very well behaved and she's excellent with her Greyhound friends too. Nellie would like a quiet home where she can enjoy sofa snuggles.

Spice
This striking girl is 4 year old Spice. She's a very friendly girl who loves people and her Greyhound friends. We've started her introductions to other breeds and these are going well but will need to be continued carefully when she's in a new home. She's a big girl at 32kg, but that just means there's more of her to love and cuddle . She's such a happy girl and she's going to make a lovely pet to a very lucky home. She would like an home with a secure garden to enjoy and she can be homed with another Greyhound/large breed providing introductions go well. She isn't cat or small furry friendly.

Boddsy & Smartie
We originally homed Boddsy and Smartie back in July 2021, and they have been living together as wonderful pets. Sadly, their owner became unwell a couple of months ago so they came back into our care to be looked after. It was hoped that they may be able to return to their owner, but unfortunately this isn't going to be possible so they are now looking for a new home where they will be loved as much as they have been in their previous home.
Having been in a home happily together for the past 3 years, we would really like them to stay together in a new home, but they can be split to the right homes if needed. They both walk well on the lead and are very sweet natured. They enjoy a fuss and love treats! They have been used to living in a quiet, adult only home with a secure garden to enjoy, so this is what they would like to find again. They can't be homed with cats or small animals. Smartie is excellent with other breeds. Boddsy is good when all are on lead and care is taken.
They will both be having a dental before going to a new home/s, but they are otherwise in good health.

Matilda
This beautiful girl is 2 year old Matilda. She's a sweet natured and gentle girl with a wonderful temperament. She walks nicely on the lead and loves her Greyhound friends. She's also been excellent when introduced to other breeds. The only thing Matilda isn't keen on is travelling, so a home where she doesn't have to travel too much would be ideal for her. She is a lovely girl and will be an amazing pet to a very lucky home. She'd like a home with a secure garden to enjoy and without small furries.

This gorgeous boy is 3 year old Milo. He's a cuddly and loving boy with the most beautiful eyes . He loves people, enjoys his walks and likes playing with his toys. He's excellent with his Greyhound friends and can be homed as an only pet or with another Greyhound/s. He would like a home with a secure to enjoy, without cats or small furries.

This gorgeous boy is 3 year old Caesar. He is Bonos litter brother and they have always been together (you can find Bonos details below). Cian
Gorgeous 4 year old boy Cian has settled in really well. He's a big lad at just under 40kg but that just means there's more of him to love . He's a happy and loving boy who is extremely gentle but he's a very sensitive lad who can be nervous of new people / surroundings so he will need an understanding and quiet home (away from busy roads and with no children). He walks perfectly on the lead and has been good when introduced to smaller breeds. He loves his Greyhound friends and he can be homed with other Greyhounds as long as introductions go well. He really is a gentleman and will be the most amazing pet to the right home, his sensitive nature just needs to be understood with patience and love .

Bruce
This handsome boy is 3 year old Bruce . He's a very loving and affectionate boy, and everyone who meets him instantly falls in love. He's very cuddly and once he knows you he will jump up to give the best bear hugs . He walks nicely on the lead and likes to play with his toys. He's excellent with his Greyhound friends and would like a home with a secure garden to enjoy. He'll need a home without cats or small furries. Due to his size, and the fact that he likes to jump up for cuddles, he'll need a home without small children. Bruce is such an amazing boy and will be a fabulous pet to a very lucky home.

Melvin
This beautiful boy is 5 year old Melvin. He's the most loving, kind and gentle boy and all of us here at Barley adore him.
Melvin originally came to us a couple of years ago and found a lovely home but sadly he was returned to us as his temperament changed and he didn't want to go for walks which resulted in him snapping at his owner a few times. When he came back into our care it was clear that he was uncomfortable with his feet, he didn't want to walk and laid down a lot. On closer inspection we found that he had 7 corns on various different pads on his feet and they were obviously causing him a lot of pain and discomfort (his owners vet had missed this). He had treatment and surgery for his corns and has recovered really well. It's been a few months since his treatment and we are pleased to say he's remained sound with no more corns appearing and he is really enjoying his walks again. He gets so excited to go out and loves playing with his toys in the field. Having previously lived in a home he is housetrained and is also an excellent traveller.
He's such a great boy and deserves to find his loving forever home. A quiet home where be can enjoy nice rural walks would be ideal for him. He'd like a home without children or small animals. He can be homed as an only pet or with a Greyhound girl providing introductions go well.

Lovely Lottie joined us due to a change in her owners circumstances. She is the sweetest girl with the most lovely temperament. She's excellent with her Greyhound friends and all the other breeds she's met so far. She walks perfectly on the lead and enjoys her walks. She has lived in a home and is house trained. Lottie would like a quiet home with a fully secure garden to enjoy. She would like the company of another dog.

Pretty 5 year old girl Nessa joined us last week. She's settled in well and her personality is really starting to shine through. She is absolutely bonkers but so full of love to give. Mo
Gorgeous boy Mo has settled in with us well. He is a handsome 6 year old boy covered in beautiful white snowflakes . Mo came into our care as his owner sadly passed away. He had lived in a home since July 2022 so he knows all about the sights and sounds of home life and is housetrained. He's excellent with Greyhound girls but can’t live with males or smaller breeds. He's quite strong so he will benefit in a home with an adopter who is willing to put in some training. He is extremely loving with people and loves his treats so in the right home where he can learn boundaries we are sure he will blossom into a wonderful boy.
Mo arrived into our care with Snowy (we will do a separate post for her) and they can be homed together to the right home but they aren't bonded and don't care when they are apart so they can go separately to their perfect forever homes

Mufasa
Handsome 4 year old Mufasa joined us in September and he is settling in well. He's made it clear that he is totally bonkers! But also one of the most loving and friendly dogs we've ever met. He adores people and loves to jump up for cuddles, although he does tend to forget that he's 37kg of massive oaf at times!. He's excellent with his Greyhound friends and we've started his introductions to other breeds but this will need to be continued carefully by his adopters as he does have a high prey drive. He loves his walks and although he can be strong initially he soon settles down to walk nicely on the lead. He loves to play and enjoys off lead time in our fully secure field. We know Mufasa is sadly going to be a challenge to home due to his size, prey drive and strength but he is one of the most amazing, funny, clever and loving boys we've ever had in and we know he will make an amazing pet to the right understanding and sensible home that is willing to give him a chance .

Danny
Gorgeous 5 year old boy Danny is a very cuddly and laid back lad. Tess
Our beautiful girl Tess is one of our longest stayers so she has recently spent some time in foster with 2 of our volunteers to try and help her find her forever home and she was such a good girl. She settled instantly with her fosterers other 2 Greyhounds, was clean in the house and can do stairs with no trouble. She slept happily at night on her bed in her fosterers bedroom. The only thing they really had to watch her with was food, as our Tessy is a massive foody and will steal food from the table/worktops if given the chance! When out walking she generally walks very well, she can become interested in other breeds so care will need to be taken and she will need to be kept on lead but she is settling down as she gets used to seeing them.
Tess is a really loving girl who adores people and cuddles, she's excellent with her Greyhound friends and loves to play with her toys. She's going to be an amazing pet to a very lucky home.

Prince
Gorgeous 5 year old boy Prince would love to find his forever sofa. He joined us in June and is such a lovely boy. Prince originally found a lovely home directly from his trainers kennels where he was excellent in the house but sadly he had to be returned after a couple of months due to an altercation over a toy with the other dog in the home so he is now with us to search for his forever sofa.
Prince is the most loving boy with people and he loves jumping up for cuddles. He enjoys his walks, is perfect on the lead and loves to play. He does need an understanding home though as he has a high prey drive and needs to continue his positive introductions to smaller breeds (this was started in his first home and will be continued by us here until he finds his new home). He'd like to be an only pet where he can have all the love, fuss, attention and toys to himself. He loves everyone but he is a big lad so due to his size and the fact that he likes to jump up he will need a home without children. In the right understanding home he is going to be the most amazing, loving and loyal pet.

Timmy
Gorgeous 5 year old boy Timmy joined us over a year ago. He's a sweet natured boy with a fun and loving personality. He loves to play, especially with cuddly toys or footballs and he walks well on the lead. He loves his Greyhound friends and we've begun his introductions to other breeds but he does have quite a high prey drive so these careful introductions will need to be continued in his new home and his adopters will need to be understanding of his prey drive.

Barley
This handsome boy is 7 year old Barley. He's a happy boy who loves people and doesn't stop wagging his tail. He loves his Greyhound friends and enjoys his walks. Although he can't live with other breeds, his introductions to other breeds when on lead are going well. He will need a home that will allow him time to settle in and get used to the new sights and sounds of home life. He will need a home without cats or small children (due to his size). Barley is a lovely boy who will be a great pet in the right home.

Buster
Gorgeous boy Buster has been with us for over a year now. He's a big lovable 7 year old boy who is extremely affectionate and cuddly with people. He walks nicely on the lead and likes walking with his Greyhound friends. He does have a very high prey drive and this will need careful understanding in his forever home. We've begun his introductions to other breeds and this positive training will need to be continued by his adopters. Buster will need a home without cats, small animals or children. In the right home he will be the most loving and loyal companion.
